Changing Lives and Fun Pictures!

Some fun pictures if you have not yet seen these!  First of all, Dee (from Warren, OH) TRULY brightened my day on Friday in Toledo, OH.  For whatever reason I was feeling down in the dumps all day, and was really not quite focused on doing the show that evening...see even I have down days!  We are all only human!  But, anyhow, she came to the show complete with an entire BOX of Gobbs (if you have yet to hear that story at a show, you will soon!) and they all said SR on top!  And, for whatever reason, that is all I needed that day to cheer me up.  See, when I say that every day, in every way, we can change someone's world for the better...WE CAN.  Rock on Dee!

Then, most of the members who played in Toledo (and got soaked in the downpour during the show) got together and had some fun times after drying drums off...and so, here is the picture of them enjoying Gobbs together (sadly I was not able to stay since I had a very early flight out of Cleveland the next morning and hours of driving ahead of me...but I DID get to enjoy my 2 Gobbs on the return to Cleveland)...

Then, I wanted to make sure to share with you pictures of when I got to meet both the band I Fight Dragons (who are VERY VERY good and have created a VERY unique new musical approach...mixing together guitar driven rock with Nintendo games, sounds, and controllers!  Very cool!)...as well as most of Cobra Starship the same night...so here are those pictures for you to enjoy.  I must say that Victoria, from Cobra, is VERY nice and down to earth...and Ryland, from Cobra, loved my shoes that night and told me!  However, I Fight Dragons members, who are new to the touring scene, were incredibly nice to talk with, and reminded me again that for the most part we are all the same in life...with God given talents that can be put to Great use.  I say MOST PART because sadly, at the same concert, I had to not only suffer through 3-oh-3 who were very offensive...beyond anything I have ever experienced in a rock band before, but also had the RUDEST FANS I have ever been crushed, stomped, hit, pushed, shoved, and cussed at by...and most of them were 12 year old girls doing the crushing, stomping, hitting, pushing, shoving, and cussing...thank goodness they all left before Cobra took to the stage, letting those of us who were normal fans enjoy the actual headlining act that night.

Enjoy these too...and more soon!  And, sorry for my stupid smile in the I Fight Dragons picture...I was tired and sore and ready to head home :)

  2. Glad there was someone to cheer you up on your down day Steve. Thanks for helping him smile Dee!
Looks like the Toledo group has fun.
Nice pictures Steve and funny how all three of you had some sort of green in your shoes! Too bad on those immature girls but know you had a good time anyway at the concert.
I agree with I Fight Dragons that we are all the same (even the Dahli Lama said that in his speech at UNI) and people anymore these days don't realize it. It is such a shame but thank goodness for Sheltered Reality and all the people involved in it-hopefully we can keep educating these people to make the world a better place!!

  3. Nice, Dee!

And Steve, I know EXACTLY how you feel about immature girls at musical events. It's even worse when they're doing that while your best friend is singing... Or worse, when YOU'RE trying to perform. (I'm whining about student conduct at talent shows at school. Maybe SR needs to come and teach my classmates to Be A Friend! My principal actually seemed pretty receptive to the idea.)

At least they left so you could enjoy some of the concert in peace.

    Lovely pics!

  4. Haha :D no problem!! I'm glad you like it and glad I brightened your day! I was kind of worried about bringing them because I wasn't sure where I was going to put it, but I took a chance, and we made it work! It was on Sophie and my lap for awhile then we moved it in the back. But I am glad that everyone liked it! :D made me smile seeing everyone get excited about them :)

I am glad you had a good time at the concert, except the 3-oh-3 people... I don't like them at all. My friend saw them in concert and told me stories...man...I would have hate going to see them. All the crazy people, I don't know.. I wouldn't enjoy it that much. But Cobra Starship was probably awesome! and meeting them...thats so cool!!

Oh, I love your shoes Steve!! those are sooo cool!!!! :D

    Thanks Jovanna,mrschuck, and Sonja. :D

  7. I'm glad that you had fun! Besides the immature girls it sounds like tons of fun. If I ever get the chance I want to go to a Green Day Concert! They are my fav. band, and yes, I do think that they are incredibly awsome. Also on a side note: Jordan needs to think about getting a haircut!

  8. Kristen...yes...Cobra is very retro in their style of dress (if that is what you are thinking in reference to Old Navy). Dee...glad you liked my shoes...they are my new faves! Elizabeth...is all OK in Faith following Tornadoes there? It seems since I have met you all out there...you have had winter blizzards, power line outages, water contamination, fog forever, floods this spring, and now tornadoes. Does it ever actually get nice there??

  16. I never really like 3-oh-3 really, I've seen them before and they weren't even that good. I've been to a lot of concerts...more metal rock stuff and the mosh pits get pretty intense! especially the younger girls cuz really...who's going to punch a lil girl? so they are the ones who usually stay safe lol as for us guys we suffer! i did it one time and its the last time i'll ever jump in a mosh pit! i wish i could've seen cobra with you guys! i hope all 3 of you had fun!!

  17. Sonja- umm well i was at practice and we were all done drumming and were about to take our drums down when one of the guys decided to pull on my arm when i wasn't paying attention to him. In the end he pulled all the tendons of my arm away from my shoulder bone. and so no drumming for 2 weeks but i just got the release yesterday that I can drum at practice with Steve tomorrow so yea :)

  18. Steve- Lately nice weather has been hard to come by. No one was hurt in the tornadoes but there are a few houses lost and one country school. One of the houses that was damaged belonged to friends of ours they weren't home so they didn't see it, but there was a lady that was starting to drive away from her house and watched it role over. Also with the school they had just got out of school Friday, if they had gotten one more snow day all of the kids would have been there. There also happen to be a church on each side of the school and neither were touched!
The rain is EXTREMELY annoying! I can't wait until everything dries up a little. We need to brand calves soon, but we can't do that until the creeks go down.
One last thing that happened is during one of the storms an electrical line that leads to my uncle's house was zapped and most of his electrical appliances were ruined.
That's all I can think of right now!

  19. Dee- i hope you can go, and I hope that I can go too! :)

  20. Elizabeth- wow!! well i am glad to hear that everyone is okay.

Sonja- yea i know. the doctor said that i am not aloud to carry my drums...so that is gonna be hard for me cause my dad doesn't like carrying them...so yea.

    ReplyDelete
  21. My dad HATED carrying my drums. (When I started I could barely lift them. -_-') Maybe you could find a little rolling cart thingy to put them on?

I'd lend you my little cart thingy, but you'd have to come visit me in Minnesota to get it. ;)

  22. Elizabeth- I am never complaining about MN weather again. SD weather sounds ridiculously extreme.

  23. Colleen- I agree. I am so glad that no one got hurt. My brother and I saw 2 tornadoes form with in 10 minutes so I am very surprised.
Sonja- It isn't that bad if you don't freak out and just wait it out. There is always something else to do to pass the time. Also no matter what the weather is like you still have to do chores so you just grin and bear it. lolz.

  24. Sonja- yea i would love to come visit you :) put the big thing that our site has is the bags with the wheels. One of our members (Dustin) started it and everypne followed. The only downside about having the bags with wheels is that it is hard to put them in the cars. but there is always a way :)

Elizabeth- WOW! now that really is amazing. That really proves that God is watching over and protecting you. i have never seen a tornado in person but some of my friends have and they said that its cool and scary at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Colleen- Rolling bags sound cool. I think a lot of us just kind of stagger around with the bag slung over our shoulder. (Well, I do at least. I bet it looks funny.) Also, once your shoulder gets better some of you should come do a show here. Or some of us and some of you guys could meet up halfway, at a intermediate site and invade their practice!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sonja- Oh Yea!!! that sounds sweet. we should do it. especially since its summer now :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Colleen- It is scary when they are close and you can hear them, they sound like a train coming right at you, but when you are kind of far away is isn't that scary. Yes, God is keeping a close eye on a lot of people out here. Yesterday getting cows in my brother, Dean, almost rolled a 4-wheeler right on top of himself. It scared us all.

  28. Everybody- Ohhhh k those pics or a little werd but ok.
