RANDOM CHAT THREE

Since I have been traveling nonstop this week, and had many late drives, I have not had a chance to think about the next major posts I want to put up...which I will work on getting some new good ones up for you over the next few days.  For now...here is your chance to post what you want to talk about next...so whoever is first here gets to set the chain in motion.

Enjoy :)

  10. I wish for all of you an awesome God experience at MTR 2010. We were there in 2007. If you get to do any sightseeing besides at the memorial, take the drive into the Badlands. It's totally worth it. Read what makes up the Badlands and take time to explore the many formations. Also, the Firehouse Restaurant in downtown Rapid City is awesome. I hope it's still open for business. Maybe someone from Rapid City can comment if it's open. Have a superfantastic trip. It took us 14 hours one way ... let's see... 14 hours in the cold or 10 hours to a sunny place. Well, we chose MTR and our memories are Priceless! What a wonderful different way to praise God and rejoice about His Son on Easter morning.

  12. I'm SOOOO excited!

I can't wait to meet my online SR friends in real life! At the moment, Kelli is the only person not from my site that I've met in real life. Sad, right? I've only been here a few months though, so I have time!

I can't wait for the Megapractice! It sounds so much fun.

I'm spending the part of Spring Break that I have at home doing hardcore practice on everything that I don't know yet. I pity my family.

Annette- I know, this place has been pretty quiet for a while.

Elizabeth is also trying to get me to Faith on Monday (which won't be happening :( I have Adams, MN second practice and that thing they call school that is supposedly something you are suposed to go to so you can learn things lol)
Sonja-Aww I feel special! I lead your first show AND I'm the only person outside MSP you actually know?!? Well that WILL be changing shortly!
    Dee-I saw ;) <3
Annette-I was wondering the same thing! If my site wasn't mostly way younger kids I would be doing the same thing!

  19. I have a show on Thursday! My second show! (Which means MTR is going to be my third)

Every time I sign up for a show, I get a "What did I just get myself into?" moment.

    Still, CAN'T WAIT!

Autumn- If nobody else comments I'm just going to end up talking to myself. It'll be amusing to readers, I'm sure.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sonja - I'm gonna be there on thursday too! It's my first show :)

  23. Heidi- I GET TO BE AT YOUR FIRST SHOW!!! You'll love it. Shows are amazing, even if you're like me and don't know the songs. (It's my second. We'll be in the same situation of "Oh no, I don't know this!" but it's all good because there are lots of awesome drummers to follow.) You're going to be great!

Autumn and Kelli- I will have fun, thanks. ;)

  24. Man it feels like forever since I've been able to comment... It's been like a day or two.. lol. yesterday we had a birthday party for my cousin, my twin, and I yesterday. Its was fun seeing most of my family... They are VERY loud, i must say its very amusing. lol :D

I have some awesome pictures of the Badlands! :D I love the drive too. 25 hours there and 25 hours back. to those who were talking about their first shows...mine was a church service of 2 songs and we all had to share drums and take turns. but i had a blast. :) but yea that was almost 4 years ago so im a little fuzzy on all the details haha i have such a bad memory!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Mine was last month! Ha ha, I just felt like since everyone else is talking about their first shows I should mention mine.

Hey, now I have people to talk to so I don't need to talk to myself. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sonja- haha i talk to myself all the time and sometimes i dont even realize that im doing it haha

    ReplyDelete
  28. Colleen- Same. Or worse... Today I caught myself scolding my drumsticks every time I missed the cowbell while I was practicing. Sad, right?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Sonja- not really cause i do the same thing...i even count to myself and sing my ABCs with out even thinking about it haha but i guess its just one more thing we have got in common :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Heidi- Don't worry, it's OK to be a little nervous. I've been on the stage my whole life and I could barely set up my drums I was so nervous. I can't wait to see you Thursday! You're gonna have so much fun! All the others drummers are very helpful at shows.

Also I hope you can come to MTR!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Heidi- i agree with Sonja, you have to come to MTR!!! it will be so much fun!! and i cant wait to meet you and everyone else on here :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Heidi- yea i know how that is. the first year that i went i almost didn't go because we didnt have the room. Thankfully one of the other parents *cough cough Dee's parents cough cough* volunteered to drive as well. So everything worked out. Just never give up and keep on trying. it will all work out hopefully :)

  38. Hey guys. I know that this is wierd to ask. I just had a good friend who's dad past away this morning. I am pretty sure that she is a freshman either that or 8th grade and he was only 43. Does anyone know what I should tell her?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Colleen - Thanks :) I'm gonna try work something out I think

Elizabeth - I'm so sorry for your friend! I have no idea what to tell her though since I've never been in a situation like that. I'm sure she'll be appreciative to have a friend to support and just be there for her

    ReplyDelete
  40. Heidi- anytime :)

Elizabeth- Tell her comforting things...i think that is what you are supposed to do. when my great uncle died all my friends told me that it was going to be okay and that he was with god now in a better place.i guess its a hard thing to deal with when its your own parent so just tell your friend that it is going to be okay. she will be in my prayers :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Elizabeth- Give her a hug, tell her you're sorry, be honest if you don't know what to say, and tell her you want to listen, if she wants to talk. I think there are some websites that talk about how to help people through grief, but I don't know of any specifically.

On Dec. 31, 2005, my life nearly came to an end following an auto accident in which my van was hit head on and then pushed across the centerline and hit head on again. I was given less that 50 percent chance of living as I had 16 broken bones, including both legs with severely crushed femurs. Following six weeks of laying flat on my back in the hospital, I took my first step on Feb. 14. It has been a long recovery process to get to where I am today.
However in the summer of 2006, I met Steve and Jordan at the iowa State Fair. At that time ( even though walking with a walker) I knew I wanted to be a part of the SR family. The music and the SR message struck a chord with me immediately.
In July of 2009, I felt well enough to honor that commitment and made the plunge into the Des Moines Metro Group. At age 60, I am one of SR's oldest members, yet I feel like a "Big Kid" as i fulfill my dream.
I owe a lot to my Lord and Savior for giving me a second chance in life, and I want to make music with the SR family as a token of my love to HIM. . I thank Tom and Renae Lynch and all of the Des Moines Metro group for welcoming me into their "family."
I am looking forward to meeting and talking with many of you at MT Rushmore in just over a week, and at many of the shows during the summer.
Feel free to write me as I love to connect with people of all ages.
