It is hard to believe it, but another year has passed, and another Easter Mega Weekend is upon us! We have THE MOST drummers coming ever this year, which is great...I will post the official tally here once the weekend is over...and we know exactly how many folks made it out to Rapid City. The weather looks "OK"...not great, but not horrible...but we will survive, again, of course.
Mega Practice will be wonderful, as always, as we work through all current songs, review all the new things we have done so far in 2010, and then, even work some of them into the actual new song they go with (so be prepared to show your fast Tick Tock Beats!). We will also start to work on other new things that are coming, perfect our Sheila E fill some more...and then, make new friends, have a fun Egg Hunt after practice, and do a community dinner together courtesy of the Rapid City site...all before the actual show on Sunday morning.
I wish everyone safe travels out...no matter whether you are driving across the state or the country...enjoy the time away from your home site...your home community...and look forward to some truly happening SR memories being made...yet again.
Once we are through with this Mega Weekend we will start to pick up with some of the things that have gotten placed on the back burner on the Blog...mainly due to insane travel on my end...and succeed in finishing some of the things we have started.
See you this weekend OR if you are unable to go to MTR this year...start planning your Mega Trip to St. Louis for the Mega Summer Weekend...plans are coming along for it quite nicely :) I will recap Easter Weekend on the Blog by middle of next week.

I just want to say that i am soooo happy to go to MTR and meet all of you! If it wasn't for this blog, I would probably would be nervous meeting alot of new people. :) because, i'm not excited or anything........
I'm already halfway there! I'm in Mitchell, SD right now!

ReplyDeleteI do have to share with you all about my daughter, Shianne. She is in SR with me and she is in the 3rd grade. She was having a meltdown about the Mega Practice and the MTR experience since she doesn't know what to expect. Anyway, tonight she was refusing to go and it took us an hour to get out of her the reason that she didn't want to go was that she thought that the practice was from 6:00 p.m. to midnight!!!!!! I now understand her anxiety.
As soon as she found out that Mega Practice was during the day all is well!!!!!!!! So when you all get there, please, please, please find Shianne from the Faith site, and encourage her to "Never Give Up" and "Take A Chance"! I think there are a lot of young kids and adults that are really nervous about the week-end, but need to be reassured that it will be awesome!!!!!!

The trip here was amazing!!! !We finally got to the hotel in Rapid City at 8ish pm . I am having a blast so far and spending time with the amazing Toledo site!!! I cant wait til tomorrow!!!! It is going to be Awesome!!! Cant wait to meet all of you!!!! :D

Thank you to everyone who had a part in preparing for the spaghetti dinner! I can't remember when I've had so much fun. It was such a great way to prolong the chance we had to meet everyone.

ReplyDeleteanyway i'm not sure if I am going becuase that is my church's vbs and my mom is in charge of making food for ALL of the people-and so far, she is my only way going there. But my brother and sister-in-law live there and hopefully they will still live there :) in a short, i am not sure... But i know we will eventually meet!!!! We better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Autumn- YES WE WILL! We will Never Give Up and do Whatever It Takes! Hopefully you can find a way there! Or maybe we just need to have more Mega events. :) Ha ha maybe not too many more, or I might start to irritate my parents....

ReplyDeleteOh, irrelevant question: At MTR during Megapractice, various sites had shirts and whatnot for sale. Sadly, I had no cash left over from my very awesome Woot shirt, so I couldn't buy anything. Can you buy them over the net or do I have to wait until next Mega event to buy stuff?
ReplyDeleteWow- i had an amazing time at the mega practice!! i think that i scared a few people cause of how loud and obnoxious i am but i guess you get used to it :) but this was the best easter i have ever had and it was tons of fun spending more time with the Toledo-ans :)
