I am VERY impressed and VERY proud to announce that I have now witnessed three members conquer the new tick tock beat I have created in less than 30 hours...Taylor from Watertown (who was FIRST...YAAAY...she is 7th grader there and worked very hard to show it to me)...followed by Autumn and Sadie from Sioux Falls...and then, by report, Kelli has conquered it after practice yesterday...though I have to see it to believe it! HA!
For all of you...as we work on this much harder set of things for the new song, I want to encourage you to be proud of yourself when you get it, of others when they get it, and of your site when EVERYONE has it. Make that a goal...to get it conquered for everyone at your site...doing Whatever It Takes all together.
Today we are driving from my home to Racine WI for practice and back home...that is 4 hours up and 4 hours back in the snow...URGHH on winter. I have had enough, and much more to come sadly.

ReplyDeleteso i just found out that I know this beat! that is soo very exciting to me!! It took me forever to get it. i got it up to track 15 i think...yeah cuz i love that song so i try to get everything up there and ahh!! i thought i didnt know it. i just didnt know the name!! :D LoL wow...

ReplyDeleteSonja-LoL i 4real. lol. My cat HATE it. lol. She freaks out when I play on the bells. :D she runs downstairs. its kind of funny. One time I ran down there and my cats tail was all poofy, and her eyes are all black and she has the what the fetch look on her. lol :D makes me laugh everytime. lol She loves it on the inside i know it. ;)
ReplyDeleteDee- My cat got scared of my bro's alto sax, but he doesn't mind the drums or cowbells. My parents, on the other hand, HATE IT. I thought I was being quiet by just gently tapping with my fingers, but I still got yelled at. (They want me to only practice while they're out of the house.)

I get banished to the basement when I practice. Some things like this beat are just to hard for me to do on th floor and get the right feel. I too am spider to practice when no one is home, but somehow Mom slept through my drumming yesterday, and school just got cancelled so I have all day to practice more!

Sonja and Kelli- yeah.. I know what you mean. My family get annoyed with it too. But I think they are getting used to it. lol One time I only wanted to play for like 5 min. and yeah... I played for like 1 or 2 hr. :D I didnt know lol. I was getting so into it and excited that I got it yeah :) lol

My aunt raised three boys, all percussionists. She was slightly unsympathetic to my parents plight. :)
